Reducing No Shows

We can help reduce No Shows.

Every salon experiences no shows. In the past many salons would set aside time each day / week to call individual clients and remind them of their appointment. It was the only way to try and reduce the amount of clients that didn’t turn up for their appointment.

The costs involved when clients don’t show up can be substantial. An empty seat and unallocated staff member equals loss of income.

Now that we have the benefit of SMS marketing, your salon software can automatically remind your clients of their appointment without you, or your staff, having to do a thing.

Once it’s set up in the salon software, it’s completely automated.

By sending an SMS reminder to your client, and giving them an opportunity to confirm or cancel, you have the option to rebook the spot if the client does cancel or reschedule.

If you’re given enough notice, your salon software has the ability to send out a promo SMS to actively try and fill the cancelled appointment.

This also goes hand in hand with the importance of having an up-to-date client database. By having the correct details for your clients you are able to keep in touch with them whenever needed.

Here are two other ways you can try and encourage clients to give notice when cancelling an appointment:

You may consider offering an incentive for clients who call in advance to cancel. You could send them a promotion that offers a 10% discount on their next visit.

You could even offer a monthly competition as an incentive for clients who give at least 24 hours notice of a cancellation. When a client calls to cancel an appointment you can show your appreciation by letting them know they have the chance to win a gift card as a thank you for calling in advance.

These are just a few simple ways to keep your salon running smoothly.
